DEP has announced the appointment of Ian Turnbull to drive sales of the company’s Synplas range of printable materials for a wide range of printing methods, including inkjet, and for its bespoke contract coating business.

As support to Turnbull’s role, DEP has also launched a new website. The website provides detailed information on DEP’s prepress materials and printable films, as well as its contract coating services. With over a century’s success in bringing coated products and services to the market, DEP has flourished by anticipating and responding to market demands.

“We are delighted to have Ian on board to bring his years of experience to ensure that our customers continue to receive the excellence they have come to expect in our products and service,” says Jack Kahn, owner of DEP. “The company is well established in developing and coating inkjet chemistry for solvent, aqueous, dye and pigment inks. This capability is backed up by clean room adhesive coating onto a wide range of specialist substrates, including synthetic papers and polyesters.”

Turnbull has over 20 years of experience in custom coating and in the wide format inkjet media market, having previously held management positions with Rexam/InteliCoat and SIHL, where he was UK operations director. “I’m delighted to join a business with the pedigree and expertise of DEP,” he says. “The business is committed to meeting the needs of customers who require high performance niche products for the print market. Our window graphics market requires optically clear adhesives, which DEP can produce with their clean room coaters and this, coupled with proven know-how of inkjet coating onto a wide range of media, will allow us to bring an exciting range of new products to the market.”
